NCBA.gg
Staff Guidelines
Every member of staff plays an important role in ensuring the constant growth and positive reputation of NCBA.gg. The NCBA Staff Team strives to ensure users both enjoy their experience & will keep returning to the server/community, whether we’re suppressing rule-breakers, treating users with a positive attitude, hosting events, etc.
Our goal is to give as much freedom to users as possible. As a staff member, it's important to know when your presence is necessary. Sometimes it's best to let others have their fun, especially when no real harm is being done. The main purpose of our rules is to serve as a foundation for when users are acting unreasonably/disturbing the peace. It's highly recommended that the only reason a staff member should step in is when:
Multiple users (2-3+) are complaining.
A user's actions are unreasonably disturbing the fun/roleplay of others.
A user's actions could harm the server's growth or reputation.

(1.1) Staff should maintain a professional & respectful demeanor towards all users & fellow staff when necessary.
There should be a balance between joking/goofing around & handling/responding to situations accordingly.
(1.2) Staff are expected to work as a team when necessary.
Help other staff investigate reports/logs, give advice/suggestions towards solving problems, help with crowd control, etc..
(1.3) Staff are required to regularly moderate & respond to reports/pings on the server & discord.
If you’re going to be inactive for more than 3-7 days, it’s recommended to submit an LOA.
(1.4) Sharing/leaking private or confidential information from any staff/development-related resource is strictly prohibited.
Always make sure it's okay to share staff/development-related information.

(1.4) Sharing/leaking private or confidential information from any staff/development-related resource is strictly prohibited.

(2.1) Staff are expected to remain unbiased at all times.
If possible, ask another member of staff to handle a situation you feel/know you'd be biased in.
(2.2) Abuse of power, authority, & commands is strictly prohibited.
Never use your position to negatively affect others. NCBA.gg strives for a friendly, inclusive, & fair environment.
(2.3) Don’t neglect rule-breakers. Always step in when necessary.
Whether in-game or on discord, staff are obligated to step in when they see users breaking rules/guidelines.
(Please refer to the Punishment Handbook if you're unsure when stepping in is necessary)
(2.4) Always ensure a user is well informed when they ask questions, or before warning/punishing them.
Be descriptive when explaining the rules/etc. It’s especially important that users are aware of their offending actions before warning/punishing them.
(2.5) Staff are required to have sufficient evidence before warning/punishing a user.
The logs don't lie, and is (mostly) an effective & viable way to collect evidence.
Eye-witnesses aren't considered a viable way to collect evidence, and mostly comes down to a "he said she said" scenario.
If all else fails, end the sit and spectate the offending player(s) to gather evidence.
